Course Details
Welcome to the “Stretches: Static and Dynamic – Equine” course, designed specifically for IAAT members who wish to expand their knowledge and skills in equine rehabilitation and wellness. This course, led by the renowned therapist Rebeccah Baylis, focuses on the critical practice of stretching, vital for maintaining and enhancing the physical health of horses. Through this comprehensive program, you will explore various stretching techniques, understand the appropriate contexts for their use, and learn how to apply these methods effectively to support equine health and mobility.
By the end of this course, you will be proficient in both static and dynamic stretching techniques, capable of assessing when each type of stretch is appropriate, and skilled in instructing others on their application. This course will enhance your practical skills and deepen your theoretical understanding, making you a more effective equine therapist.
Live Zoom sessions are integral to the learning experience of this course, designed to enhance your understanding and skills through real-time interaction. Should you be unable to attend a live session, rest assured that a recording will be made available to you. You can access the recorded session within 48 hours of the live event, ensuring you never miss a critical learning opportunity.
What you will learn:
- The importance of Stretching
- Learning a variety of stretches and what muscle groups they engage.
- Static stretches: when to use, when not to use and how to train the horse.
- Dynamic stretches: when to use, when not to use and how to train the horse.
- Prescribing those stretches and when it’s appropriate.
On completion you will be rewarded an IAAT CPD Certificate for 15-20 hours.
Meet Rebeccah Baylis
Rebeccah Baylis from Little Green Stables is a qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist and Herbal Consultant working with Zoopharmacognosy, holding further Certificates in Fascia, Myofascia release, Equine and Canine Massage, Acupressure and Mobilisation.
Working in Veterinary practice for much of her younger years, Becky now works freelance working with her client base as well as teaching, tutoring, mentoring and offering CPD’s to other therapists and owners covering and sourcing a range of specialists to work together to improve skills and develop knowledge further.
Rebeccah has partnered with IAAT to write a range of online-learning courses to help you gain greater knowledge of therapy techniques for dogs and horses.
