A mix of theory and practical evaluation including case studies.
Subjects covered.

  • Recognising sub-optimal performance and when to refer to the vet.
  • Case studies including kissing spine, suspensory desmitis, sacroiliac dysfunction and stifle
    pathologies.
  • Care of the rehabilitation patient – post surgery until return to pre surgery fitness.
  • Goal setting – determining appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • The importance of ongoing assessments.
  • Implementation and adaptation of exercise protocols with demonstrations of specific exercises aimed at improving mobility, strength, proprioceptive deficits, suppleness, balance, motor control and coordination etc,
  • The importance of measuring outcomes.
  • The importance of team work. Communication with the vet, farrier, owner, coach and saddle fitter for best outcomes
  • Owner involvement, ongoing assessment and exercise plans.

Teaching will be classroom based and outdoors. Please dress appropriately.
