Join me, LolaMichelin, for an introductory talk on Manual Ligament Therapy (MLT) for Animals.  MLT is a manual therapy technique that combines principles of osteopathy and neuromuscular training.  A fast, straightforward approach to relieve suboptimal musculoskeletal tension, MLT focuses on the proprioceptive relationship between the ligaments and muscles.  Developed for people by my mentor Arik Gohl, it has been adapted for animals by the Northwest School of Animal Massage with his permission.  As a Licensed Massage Practitioner and animal bodyworker of 40 years, my work with horses, dogs and even exotic species changed dramatically with the addition of MLT.  I have taught MLT for veterinary conferences in the US, Canada and Japan.  The method has been described as transformative, effective and a game-changer.  As Director of Education at NWSAM, it is my pleasure to bring this technique to IAAT.

Lola Michelin is the Director of Education at the Northwest School of Animal Massage. She is also a founding member of the National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure and Massage (NBCAAM) and co-chair of the Legislative Committee for that organization. An internationally recognized animal massage practitioner for over 25 years specializing in equine and exotic animals, she also owns and operates Paxhia Farm, an equine retirement and rehabilitation facility on Vashon Island, Washington.
