Tanya Sprunks is a Veterinary Physiotherapist specialising in the management of canine osteoarthritis. She completed a PgDip in Veterinary Physiotherapy five years ago and then went on to achieve a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Physiotherapy. Tanya has written a paper titled “Pulsed Shortwave Electromagnetic Field Therapy Increases Quality of Life in Canines with Symptoms of Osteoarthritis” which has been published in Veterinary Medicine and Science. She is the only UK and European distributor of Recovery RX Veterinary (Recovery RX provides advanced long-lasting pain relief for pets, using Electromagnetic Pulse Therapy) and runs several successful clinics across Devon practicing Veterinary Physiotherapy.
As part of her degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy and to complete her BSc with honours she chose to research the effects of PEMF material in relation to domestic dogs. She knew about the human equivalent of a small easy to use PEMF device and contacted the company to see if they would support her studies. They were very enthusiastic stated that they had looked at a vet’s version but didn’t know here to apply the device. She placed the device at the back of the dogs collar to affect the nervous system and the results were impressive.
What is recovery RX…
- Recovery Rx is a class II, FDA-cleared, pulsed shortwave therapy (or non-thermal shortwave therapy) device.
- Utilizes non-thermal, radio-frequency electromagnetic energy to treat postoperative pain and edema.
- When used adjunctively, Recovery Rx has been found to reduce postoperative pain and consumption of pain medication, including opioids.
- The Recovery Rx is low powered, non-thermal, self-administered, easy to use and intended for continuous use up to 24 hours/day.
- In simple words, Recovery Rx is a device that works by modulating nerve activity (neuromodulation) essentially calming misfiring pain signals.
- Research shows that that this interruption of abnormal pain signalling helps provide relief at the source and because it uses low-level pulsed Radio frequency (RF), there is no heat or pulsing felt by the user.
